To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient knowledge of office machines (faxes, computers, printers, and telephones).
  • Ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of title search/abstracting experience in the state of TN.
  • Must be able to work independently and research problems/questions as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform and produce accurate title searches/examinations in a timely manner.
  • The ability to examine search packages sent in from other abstractors.
  • Prepare title commitments from data compiled while performing title search or by using the search package from other abstractors.
  • Have a clear understanding of metes and bounds descriptions and possess the ability to follow them out on surveys, tax maps, etc.
  • Direct contact with attorneys regarding title examining questions.
  • Maintain accurate files
